London D&F market to continue downward slide as ‘discipline weakens’ The London property direct and facultative (D&F) market is seeing sweeping price declines amid rush of new capacity. Industry sources expert this continue into 2026, creating concerns about rate adequacy. In its latest trading statement, Hiscox reported a “double-digit” fall in London market property insurance rates this year, amid increased competition. Other reports suggest reductions of as much as 20% for some well-performing accounts. Falling London D&F pricing reflects softer global property insurance markets more generally.
