Melissa may reach category 5, but not on track for US

Storm expected to reach 'major hurricane' status by Sunday, with flooding and landslides expected in Hispaniola and Jamaica

Tropical Storm Melissa may reach category 5 hurricane strength in coming days and bring devastating winds and rain to parts of the Caribbean. However, there are as yet no indications that Melissa will strike the North American mainland.
