Criminals cannot sue for damages

The Government is to bring in changes to the law which will mean that convicted criminals who are injured while committing a crime will be banned from suing their victims for compensation. The move comes as a result of public and media pressure over the case of the burglar who is attempting to sue Tony Martin for £15,000 after being shot while breaking into his home. The move will come as an amendment to the Government’s Criminal Justice Bill.
