Principal place of business
A company’s principal place of business was the place at the heart of the company’s operation, and not necessarily where most
business was carried out. The case involved an employee who was dismissed from a company which said it was centred in Switzerland,
with a London subsidiary operation. However, the judge found that the London office was the principal place of business, with
the chairman, chief executive officer, chief financial officer, and head of risk management all at the London office.
