Cyber security at sea: closing the gaps before crisis hits

Jamie Jones, of GTMaritime, warns cyber attacks are inevitable but that the shipping sector needs to do more to be prepared

Cyber risk in the maritime industry has moved beyond theory. It is no longer a question of if a company will face a cyber security threat, but when and how prepared they will be when it arrives. As vessels become more connected and operations more digitally integrated, the need to harden defences and close long-standing vulnerabilities is more urgent than ever.
