Admiralty - Arrest of vessel - Letter of undertaking given by P&I Club - Whether LOU sufficient to justify release of vessel

On 6 May 2025 the claimants, Mitsui and Protea, respectively the registered owner and bareboat charterer of the vessel Vega Dream, secured the arrest by the Australian Admiralty Court of the vessel Yangze 22, owned by Nebula, the defendant, following a collision between the two in the Beicao Fairway towards the port of Shanghai on 30 December 2024. The claimants contended that the collision was caused by the negligent navigation or management of Yangze 22 by her crew, manager or owner.
