Convicted Janus Henderson trader was tracked by FCA market monitoring
A former Janus Henderson research analyst has been found guilty, alongside his sister, of insider dealing and money laundering offences by a jury at Southwark Crown Court. They were sentenced to six years and five years' imprisonment, respectively. The suspicious trades were detected by the FCA's market monitoring systems.

Redinel Korfuzi, 38, was handling "confidential, price-sensitive information for publicly traded companies as part of his
   role" at the asset managers,
according to the Financial Conduct Authority, which prosecuted the case. He conspired with his sister Oerta Korfuzi, 36, "to use that confidential information to deal
in the shares of at least 13 companies ahead of market announcements", in the 15 months to March 2021. The trades were then
executed as contracts for difference through accounts held by Ms Korfuzi and two other defendants who were acquitted by the
jury - his personal trainer and the latter's partner. A fifth defendant, Iva Spahiu, is to be tried separately in June 2027.
Temporary reporting restrictions are in place.
