Comments of the PAC Report

The May 2025 Public Accounts Committee Report (PAC) commented critically, and in no uncertain terms on the continuing impact of failures in patient safety, clinical negligence and on NHS Finances, after finding it unacceptable that the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) had not yet developed a plan to deal with the cost of clinical negligence claims. The report emphasised the Committee's concern over how much taxpayers' money is continuing to be spent on legal fees.
