Health Act in US
The House of Representatives has passed a bill reforming the medical malpractice liability system in the US. In a particularly
corny move, the bill is called the Help Efficient, Accessible, Low-Cost Timely Healthcare Act – or HEALTH Act. The bill looks
to limit non-economic damages in medical malpractice cases to $250,000. The bill also caps punitive damages at US$250,000
or twice compensatory damages, whichever is the greater.
