Steamship ‘sanguine’ about underwriting loss, CEO says
Steamship Mutual remains undismayed by its loss-making underwriting performance for the 2024/2025 policy year,
which was largely the result of the volatility inherent in marine insurance, according to the marine mutual's chief executive. Jonathan Andrews contrasted the level of high-value claims in the period,
which he described as one of the worst policy years on record, with the two previous years, which were widely characterised
as benign.
