Business interruption insurance: Covid-19 and non-damage denial of access cover

In International Entertainment Holdings Ltd and Others v Allianz Insurance plc [2024] EWCA Civ 1281; [2025] Lloyd's Rep IR 122 the Court of Appeal has rejected an appeal from some elements of the decision of Jacobs J in Gatwick Investment Ltd v Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe SE [2024] Lloyd's Rep IR Plus 44.

Jacobs J considered a series of preliminary issues on the meaning of the wording of a number of insurance policies issued by different insurers to different policyholders. Other issues arising from the decision of Jacobs J are subject to a further appeal. The only reasoned in the judgment was that of Males LJ.
