Insured losses from Helene pegged at $5bn to $10bn Insurance analysts at the weekend estimated insured losses from Hurricane Helene, the most powerful storm to hit the Big Bend region of Florida, in a range of $5bn to $10bn, with primary insurers taking the brunt of the losses. Gallagher Re said private insured losses would likely be in the mid-to-high single-digit billions of dollars, while Fitch Ratings estimated insured losses at $5bn to $10bn.
