Selby rail crash offer

Fortis, the motor insurer covering Gary Hart the driver of the Land Rover that ran onto the line causing the 10-death, 70-injured Selby rail crash, has proposed a settlement totalling less than £8mn. Fortis is understood to have reserved £50mn for claims settlement, which also includes payment to rail company GNER. An interim payment of £3mn has been made towards the £10.8mn sought by the insurers.
