Extension of NHS recoupment?

A consultation paper is to be issued based on recommendations of the Law Commission to extend Health Service recoupment of part-costs of treating accident victims to all who receive compensation. Following simplification of procedures, the existing provisions allowing collection of up to £435 a day to a maximum of £10,000 for the treatment of road accident victims now brings in around £100mn a year.
