Medical victims want informal res olution

A survey by Actions for Victims of Medical Accidents (AVMA) shows that the majority of those suffering from medical intervention want an independent complaints system able to offer an explanation and apology as well as award small sums in compensation (up to £10,000). They call for the speedy introduction of such a system so as to reduce litigation. This should, however, remain an option for those who are dissatisfied with the outcome.
