Australia considers price intervention

Proposals before the Federal government would give the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission the power to intervene on behalf of consumers where they believe insurance contracts carry disproportionate price increases. This will be additional to their existing duties to make 6-monthly reports on insurance pricing.
