Plaintiffs sue their lawyers

Up to 5,000 class action plaintiffs are bringing action against their lawyers, the Taylor Group and the Pritchard law firm, alleging breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, conversion, violation of consumer protection legislation and professional malpractice. They claim that the law firms entered into settlements without the knowledge or agreement of their clients and, unsupervised, set timings for disbursements from settlement funds and high levels of ‘expenses’. The claimants are now represented by law firm Little, Meyers & Garretson.
