Pesticides in food

Study of 24 common foods on sale, mainly fruits and vegetables, carried out by the Pesticides Residue Committee found that all, except cow’s milk, had traces of banned pesticides. Strawberries, grapes, potatoes, mushrooms and other items, all produced in the UK, had some traces of pesticide though not all were over World Health Organisation-recommended safety limits.
