Auditor’s liability to bank

In establishing the duty of care owed by the auditors of a company to a bank which had advanced money to that company, it was not necessary to show that the auditors had intended the bank rely on information in audited accounts. It was sufficient that the auditors be aware that the bank might rely on those accounts.
