Billion dollar Roundup reduced to US$400 million

A billion dollar verdict against Bayer and its Roundup product has been reduced to US$400 million. Judge Susan Schulman in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas decided on the company’s post-trial motion and reduced the verdict to US$400 million in total. The original jury verdict in January totalled US$2.25 billion with US$250 million in compensatory damages and US$2 billion in punitive damages. The company said it will seek an appeal from the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
