Limitation of liability - Forum non conveniens - Stay of Englishproceedings

On 7 September 2022, at Gouvia Marina in Corfu, a fire broke out on the motor cruiser Big Kahuna. The fire spread to other vessels, three of which sank. One of them was Halcyon, a wooden ketch. On 15 November 2022 the owners and English insurers of Big Kahuna commenced a limitation claim in the English Admiralty Court under the Limitation Convention 1976, as incorporated into English law by the Merchant Shipping Act 1995.
