Hua Sheng Hai was a bulk carrier built in China in 2017, registered in Hong Kong and flying the flag of Hong Kong. The owners and managers were Hua Sheng Hai Shipping Ltd and COSCO Bulk Shipping Co Ltd. The vessel had a gross tonnage of 44,103 tonnes and was 229 m long. The beam was approximately 33 m. She was fitted with a voyage data recorder (VDR).
