Forum for insurer disputes thrown into question by the US ruling between Canada Life and its reinsurer Converium (formerly Zurich Re). This held that while the Air Transportation Safety & System Stabilization Act stipulates the district court for the southern district of New York to have jurisdiction ‘over any claim resulting from or relating to the terrorist-related aircraft crashes of 11 September’ that this ‘applies broadly to actions filed by individual victims of 11 September. Its scope is not so sweeping as to apply to the dispute between reinsurers here’.
