Supply of bunkers - Claim by suppliers for payment against time charterers who ordered bunkers - Time charterers alleging owners paid suppliers' invoice - Suppliers confirming they had not been paid - Time charterers subsequently offering to settle claim in full - Contractual monthly interest - Costs
This was the first of a pair of references relating to an unpaid invoice in an amount of US$193,500 for a supply of bunkers
to the subject vessel at a port in China in April 2023. It concerned a claim by the bunker suppliers against the time charterers
who were the operators of the vessel at the time and who ordered the bunkers. They were the ultimate charterers in a series
of back-to-back time charters.
