Case update

A recent Supreme Court ruling will have a significant impact on future claims brought by secondary victims for psychiatric injury, according to the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL). The ruling was in the cases, Paul, Purchase and Polmear Paul and Another v Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust; Polmear and Another v Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust; Purchase v Ahmed [2024] UKSC 1; [2024] Med LR 65.
