Negligence – Damage to tangible property – Consequential economic loss – Remoteness and the burden of proof

The Supreme Court restated some of the principles applicable to claims brought in the tort of negligence where the claim is one to recover economic loss, consisting of a contractual liability to pay a sum of money, consequential upon physical damage to property.
