American Electric Power (AEP) has ‘solved’ pollution problems of Cheshire, Ohio, by buying the town. US$5.6mn ensures that
all 221 residents will leave, and protects AEP from any future health or property suits. The 90 homeowners have cheques for
three times the assessed value of their houses.
