A report from Jury Verdict Research, ‘Medical Malpractice: Verdicts, Settlements and Statistical Analysis’, shows a 43% rise
in median jury awards in medical malpractice claims in the year 2000, up from US$700,000 to US$1mn. More than half of the
awards were for US$500,000 or more.
