A challenge to the detention of superyachts

In this case the claimants challenged the decision of the Secretary of State to detain a 58.5 m luxury motor yacht, Phi , beneficially owned by a wealthy Russian businessman, pursuant to Part6 of the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 ("the Regulations"). The Regulations were made under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018, section 38 of which enables claimants affected by such a decision to apply to the High Court to set it aside.
