In 2010 KJO, a joint venture between two oil companies operating in the Arabian Gulf (AGOC and KGOC) undertook the Khafji Crude Related Offshore Projects ("the Project"), designed to improve certain production assets in the Khafji Field, offshore Saudi Arabia. The Project included the installation of a submarine power cable and new power distribution platforms. Technip was a company based in Saudi Arabia specialising in project management, engineering and construction work for the energy industry.
