$1.6mn verdict allows further suit

A US$1.6mn verdict against Pittsburgh Corning, which made asbestos pipe covering from 1962 to 1972, has been upheld in favour of the family of steelworker Joseph Cicchillo by the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals. He was represented by law firm Kelley & Ferraro, which is involved in more than 25,000 other asbestos-related cases in Ohio. The decision also clears the way for the Cicchillo family to sue the distributors of Pittsburgh Corning’s asbestos products.
