Ongoing investigators by the US National Transportation Safety Board into the 265-death crash last November has found no evidence of terrorism, bird strike or engine fire or malfunction. Two components found out of action in a preflight check were dealt with by computer reset. The vertical stabiliser and rudder of the Airbus 300-600 was last visually inspected in December 1999.
