Best year turns to worst
Statistics from analyst Airclaims show that 2001, set to be the best year ever for low aviation claims, was turned into the
worst by the events of 11 September and the destruction of three SriLankan Airlines planes on the ground by Tamil Tigers.
Insured loss, expected as below US$2bn forecast at US$1.2bn, has been pushed up to US$5.8bn.
