Salvage - Entitlement of salvors to salvage - Whether salvage contract had been entered into - Intention to be bound - International Convention on Salvage 1989

Ever Given, a massive vessel nearly 400 m in length and 60 m broad with a container capacity of 20,388 teu was on 23 March 2021 in a convoy making its way along the southern section of the Suez Canal. She grounded at one of the narrowest sections on the Canal. The Suez Canal Authority gave directions for the vessel to be refloated. That occurred on 29 March 2021. The vessel proceeded to the Great Bitter Lake and safely anchored there.
