California flooding to cause insured losses of up to $1.5bn: RMS

Insured losses will be a small proportion of the total damage given the low uptake of flood insurance by homeowners, catastrophe modelling firm says 

Insured losses from the recent flooding in California could reach up to $1.5bn, according to catastrophe modelling firm Moody's RMS.
