Progressive lowers loss estimate from hurricane Ian by $400m

The group said the decline was entirely attributed to favourable reserve development in its property business, lowering the segment's estimated loss and allocated loss adjustment expenses from Ian to $1.0bn

US vehicle and home insurer Progressive has announced a decrease in its estimated loss from last September's hurricane Ian by $400m.
