Interview with Andreas Barckow: Part I

Andreas Barckow began his term of office as IASB chair in July 2021. An expert on financial reporting, with a doctorate from the University of Paderborn, he previously served as the lead technical partner in a Big Four firm based in Germany, and before coming to the board, as President of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany (Deutsches Rechnungslegungs Standards Committee e.V.). In this interview for WAR, Dr Barckow explained how his career shapes his thinking about his current role. He also shared some thoughts about the composition of the IASB, and how its work will be affected by the creation of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
