In November 2008, an unknown person or group of persons called “Satoshi Nakamoto” launched “Bitcoin”, a new cryptographically secure digital payment system, and its native cryptocurrency “bitcoin”. With these came the underlying blockchain technology, a type of distributed ledger technology (DLT), which solved the inherent double-spending issue of digital assets.
