Chronic pain personal injury claims - case handling tips for defendants

Laura Wilson, of Hill Dickinson, examines chronic pain and what it means for defendants dealing with personal injury claims

Chronic pain is typically defined as persistent or recurrent pain that lasts for more than three months. According to a report by charity Versus Arthritis, it is estimated that some 15.5 million people in England (34 per cent of the population) suffer from chronic pain, with around 5.5 million of those people having high-impact chronic pain which affects their ability to partake in daily activities.
