Shipping faces a sanctions compliance crisis

Lawyers with sanctions expertise have not been getting much sleep of late. Such is the round-the-clock demand from shipping companies struggling to navigate the morass of rapidly evolving financial trade restrictions that the 3am finish has become a bleary eyed standard for many of the industry’s compliance experts.
