Stop now orders

Powers to enforce a quick stop to illegal trading activities come into force on 1 June 2001. A Stop Now Order provides for an injunction to be sought after two weeks notice to the trader and the director-general of fair trading, though the director can dispense with this period of grace to safeguard the interests of consumers.
