US firefighters from WTC attack more likely to develop cancer

US firefighters who worked at the World Trade Center following the 9/11 attacks in 2001 are 13 per cent more likely to develop cancer, particularly prostate and thyroid cancer, than colleagues who didn’t work at the site. This is according to research published online in the journal Occupational & Environmental Medicine.
