Names refused right of appeal

The dissident Lloyd’s Names, led by Sir William Jaffray, have been refused the right of appeal against Mr Justice Cresswell’s decision that Lloyd’s had not recruited them fraudulently. Although the theoretical possibility of an approach to the European Court of Human Rights remains, it seems Cresswell J’s strongly expressed wish that the matter be settled by an independent panel will come about.
