HAMILTON EXITS LONDON PROPERTY TREATY REINSURANCE

Hamilton Insurance Group will stop underwriting property treaty reinsurance through its Lloyd's syndicate 4000. The Bermuda-based carrier will continue to underwrite property treaty reinsurance from its Bermuda operation, Hamilton Re. This will consolidating its peak peril catastrophe reinsurance underwriting into one hub, the group said. In addition, Hamilton said it will continue to support US regional property reinsurance business through its US-based team. Hamilton Managing Agency chief executive, Adrian Daws, said the move “allows us to reduce volatility in our Lloyd’s business and focus on writing specialty niche products”.
