Concorde tyres at question, despite runway debris confirmation

In an interim report, the French Air Accident Investigation Bureau (BEA) says it is ‘more and more probable’ that a piece of metal from the Continental Airlines DC10 that had taken off a few minutes earlier was the cause of the tyre blow that led to last summer’s crash, killing 113. It also believes the shockwave from the burst was enough to rupture a fuel tank, without penetration.
