Liability Risk and Insurance
Liquidators called in to Chester Street
Chester Street Insurance, formerly Iron Trades Holdings prior to its sale to QBE International Insurance early in 2000, was
already exploring a scheme of arrangement for the runoff of the employers’ liability business it wrote, until 1990, as Iron
Trades Holdings. This included around 2,000 policyholders, dating from the 1950s onwards, with significant exposures, particularly
in relation to asbestos and other industrial disease.
