Unison fights smoking ban

Giant trade union Unison is to take tribunal action against the London local authority of Tower Hamlets. This is in respect of its new policy of allowing workers only two smoking breaks a day of a maximum of 15 minutes, that is two-and-a-half hours a week, which will have to be made up. All council buildings have been declared no smoking zones and smoking is not allowed within sight of public entrances.
