Fire rules for passenger ships

New regulations for passenger ships capable of carrying 36 or more passengers and built before 1994, produced by the International Maritime Organisation in the aftermath of the Scandinavian Star fire, came into force in October this year. Part of a phased package, these relate to SOLAS Convention Chapter II measures of fire prevention, detection and extinction.
