Greenpeace not guilty
Twenty-eight Greenpeace protesters, cleared of theft at an earlier hearing, were acquitted of causing criminal damage by destroying
a crop of genetically-modified maize. Norwich crown court accepted their argument that they were acting under necessity to
prevent genetic pollution of the environment.
