Toxic sunscreen?
A study by Norwegian scientists on mice shows the main filtering chemical in many sun lotions – octyl methoxycinnamate (OMC)
– may become toxic when exposed to sunlight. A report in
New Scientist
of 5 October 2000 suggests this may also damage human skin.
